(Al-Hujurath) 49 : 11

Oh, you who believed! Let not a people ridicule another people, perhaps they may be better than them; and let no women ridicule another women, perhaps they may be better than them; and do not defame one another from you, and don’t insult others calling nicknames; calling an evil name is transgressive after faith, and whoever doesn’t repent, then such are the wrongdoers.

As explained in verse 2: 213, earlier mankind was a single community. As explained in verses 21: 24-25, all 313 Messengers have been deputed with Adhikr—the Proof and Truth—to teach mankind that there is no Deity except Allah, so you serve Him alone; and as explained in verses 21: 92-93 and 23: 51-52, all Messengers have been deputed to teach mankind that there is only one community (mankind), one religion (natural life way Islam), and one Deity (Lord Allah) for mankind. Mankind created in Paradise is deputed to earth to undergo trial with whatever they have been provided with, as explained in verses 5: 48 and 6: 165. Just like everyone is brought to the earth as single, everyone is taken back from this earth also as single, as explained in verse 6: 94. As explained in verse 4: 118, from among the people of all Messengers, nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand will be entrapped by Satan. All mankind after the deputation of Muhammad as Messenger are included in his community, whereas the addressees of the Messenger (Meccan pagans) and those who have inherited the Lord’s Book as explained in verse 35: 32 are included in his people.

The Fujjar whose Ledger is in Sijjeen of Hell, as told in verse 83: 7 are the Kuffar as told in verses 83: 34 and 36. The hypocrites and Kuffar who lead a life forgetting Adhikr, which is in one’s heart's language, are forbidding the good and are commanding the evils; they are the transgressors who have forgotten Allah and the aim of life as explained in verses 9: 67-68. And in verse 48: 6, it is told that these hypocrites and Mushriks are affected with the wrath and curse of Allah, and for them Hellfire is kept prepared as an evil abode. Through the verse 9: 73, the believer who testifies Adhikr and the Messenger is commanded to do great Jihad with Adhikr towards them; and through the verse 3: 119, to say to these enemies of Allah, Messenger, and believers: "You die with your anger"; and through verse 4: 63, the believer is commanded to say to them the words that penetrate to their inner soul. Saying to these hypocrites who are telling only lies, as told in verse 63: 1, the insulting words and showing gestures towards them that will make them angry will be recorded as righteous deeds to believers as explained in verses 9: 120-121. When the believer helps Lord Allah by conveying Adhikr—the Speech of Allah—to the people of the Messenger’s community for familiarizing them about Allah and the Day of Judgment, the Lord will help him back as explained in verse 47: 7.

It is the inevitable duty of mankind endowed with intelligence to try to form harmony of mankind and to make opportunity for the thousand communities of the Lord’s creatures to praise and glorify the Lord by propagating Adhikr—the Balance and Trust to keep the universes in equilibrium—among the entire mankind irrespective of nation, religion, caste, tribe, color, sex, etc. See explanation 2: 62 and 4: 1-2. The hypocrites and their blind followers—Fajir—are following Satanic footsteps as explained in verses 2: 168-169 such as racism, communalism, nationalism, terrorism, organizational partiality, sexual partiality, apartheid, etc., which are obstructing the harmony of mankind and are against the freedom of belief. So it is not only permissible for the believers to warn the hypocrites and Fajir with Adhikr about their consequence in Hellfire, and to say to them the words ridiculing them and penetrating into their inner hearts, but it is also compulsory for them to do so. See explanation 22: 78; 41: 34-35; and 48: 24-25.

‘You do not defame one another from you’ not only means that the believers shouldn’t defame the other people of the Messenger’s community, but it also means that the believers shouldn’t defame each other. And also should use the straight word that will be understood by others easily. Since the believers have understood the message of the verses 104: 1-2 that the ‘Vaile’ valley is for the defamers by word and action who gather wealth and go on counting it, there will be no deed or word of vanity and boasting from the believers. See explanation 33: 70-71; and 39: 8.

‘You don’t insult others by calling nicknames’ means the believers are not allowed between themselves or towards other people to insult, ridicule, or underestimate anyone by calling them any nickname or double name that one doesn’t like to be called. Calling nicknames and double names after receiving Adhikr is the character of hypocrites. After receiving the message of these verses, those who do not repent to Allah with the heart for the sins and offenses that happened earlier and remind others about the consequences of it, such are the wrongdoers. See explanation 7: 175-176; 9: 23-24; and 33: 4-5.
